PM Modi in US

• PM Narendra Modi visited US for the first time since the inauguration of President Donald Trump‘s second term and met Entrepreneur and Politician Vivek Ramaswamy, Businessman and Special government appointee (DOGE) Elon Musk, and Hindu American and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard.
• Both President Trump and Prime Minister Modi appreciated each other by calling the other as ‘Deal Maker’, ‘Tough Negotiator’ after signing a deal to increase the trade between the countries in Oil, Natural gas and Defense exports to multifold.
• Before US, PM Modi landed in France where he co-chaired AI Action Summit and explained about training data bias saying ‘If you ask AI to draw a man writing in his left hand, it will draw a man writing in his right hand due to training data bias’.
• In Marseilles, France, PM Modi paid tributes to Veer Savarkar for his daring attempt to escape from British custody at the port of Marseilles on the way from Britain to India in 1910.

• Hindu American Politician Tulsi Gabbard has been confirmed as Director of National Intelligence by the Senate.
• After 75,000 Federal government employees accepted Voluntary Retirement offered by DOGE, about 1000 Federal employees have been sacked as part of the DOGE mission.

Immigration

US deported a second batch of 117 Illegal Indian immigrants to Amritsar late Saturday. Earlier on Feb 7th, 104 people have been deported back to India during which many claimed mistreatment at the hands of ICE officials.

Spiritual

500 million devotees took holy dip in Ganga river as part of Maha Kumbh mela in Uttar Pradesh. President Droupadi Murmu, PM Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah also took part in the biggest congregation of Hindus which happens every 144 years.

Tax return filing deadline for 2024 is 04/15/2025. If you haven’t contributed to your IRA or Roth IRA in 2024, you still have a chance to contribute to 2024 until the Tax day April 15th.

The Individual contribution limit for Traditional and Roth IRAs is $7,000 for 2024, and it remains the same for 2025. Individuals aged 50 and older can contribute an additional $1,000, bringing their total to $8,000 for both years.
